UP govt to open Medical College in Firozabad

The Samajwadi Party led Uttar Pradesh government has
given a green signal to two projects in the Firozabad, first constructing an IT
park and converting the existing district hospital to a medical college.

The district administration has already sent a
report to the government on land availability for the IT project and the
proposal for the medical college has gone to the Central government for
approval.

The new projects will improve the medical facilities
in the district and provide increase employment opportunities. The state
government has decided to develop IT parks in five districts including Agra and
Firozabad.

During the Lok Sabha election in May, chief minister
Akhilesh Yadav had promised to open an IT park in Firozabad. Now with the
government approving the project, the city of bangles will soon turn into an IT
hub.

Reportedly, the officials of UP Electronics
Corporation had recently held a meeting with the district administration to
discuss about land availability for the park. The government wants to develop
the park in three to five acre of land and also rope in private investors,
reported ToI.
