MAAC Annanagar wins Best Animation movie Award at Gateway 2013

MAAC Annanagar has won the best Animation movie award at
Gateway 2013 a national level media festival organized by Anna University. This
film is believed to the first stereoscopic 3D stop-motion film from India.

The film was written and directed by MAAC Student  Iruthaya Raja. He was assisted by Bala Murali
and Mithun Roy , both of them Students at MAAC Annanagar . MAAC Annanagar
mentor Anandh Ramesh developed the 3D camera rig and stereographed the film.

The film was screened in PVR Cinemas Chennai on 17th April
2013, where eminent people of the Tamil film industry Mr Vishnuvardhan
(director), Mr Sreekar Prasad (editor) and Mr Kadhir (cinematographer) judged
the films. The valedictory of Gateway 2013 was held in Anna University on 18th
April 2013, and the film was adjudged the best animation film. The award
consisted of a trophy, a citation and a cash component and was presented by Mr
Vetrimaaran, national award-winning director.

The film titled as “ Our Source “raises the issue of Power
crisis in Tamil Nadu and carries  a
social message .

Mr Shajan Samuel Sr.Vice President MAAC (India) said that
students of MAAC have exhibited their prowess at the highest level. He also
said that MAAC Annanagar has been at the forefront of nurturing talent
consistently and this award at Gateway 2013 is a testimony to that effort .
