Maharashtra state government has formed a state e-governance mission team (SeMT) to bring transparency in the functioning of the state school education department.
A M Bhattalwar, joint secretary, school education department, has been appointed as chief of the committee. Eighteen other members from regional offices across the state have also been appointed. Bhattalwar said, “The committee will decide the terms and conditions to be set whenever taking any citizens service online. It will present a report on the online services provided by the department and conduct smooth functioning.” Once the committee takes up charge, the database of all schools in the state will reflect on the department.s website. Schemes such as mid-day meal, attendance of teachers and non-teaching staff through bio-metric system will also be reflected on the website. “We will also provide information on model schools, girls hostel, proposals, project reports of school assessment among other things,” Bhattalwar added.
