MJP University initiates process for permanent faculty appointment

The move came after an experts’ team that recently visited the university campus for National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation had raised the issue of standard of quality education at the varsity.

Reportedly, the team said university has more number of guest faculty than the standard limit in all departments. A few branches of engineering department have 90% guest faculty.

Registrar SL Maurya said, “We have invited applications for appointing 20 teachers and four librarians in the university. Once we have shortlisted candidates on the basis of their eligibility, the executive council will take a final call.”

Though more than 100 posts are lying vacant against the sanctioned post of 242 permanent teachers for the past few years, the process of appointment of teachers have started now.

“The permanent teachers take classes of MSc while few subjects, including chemistry, humanities and mathematics, are taught by guest faculty to engineering students. Even guest faculty take all classes for students of chemical engineering,” said a faculty member.

Likewise, there is only one permanent teacher in applied English, Master for Social Work (MSW), Applied and Clinical Psychology and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA). Similar is the condition with other courses of all departments, ToI reported.
