The Union Government has made it mandatory for Skill Training Centres partnering with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to provide 70% placement.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said that the NSDC under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship supports the proposals for training centres through financial assistance in the form of soft loans, equity and grants.
NSDC has informed that they have received 20 representations/references from Members of Parliament from 11 States/UTs for setting up Multi Skilled Vocational Training Centres.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today Rudy said, NSDC sends its teams at constituencies as such for field study to assess the feasibility. Further, NSDC training partners have submitted expression of interest for setting up six training centres in five constituencies.
